We believe that an informed community is an empowered one.
Voter education is central to CCUI’s mission. We regularly host events and forums to help Forsyth County residents understand the issues that affect their rights and their lives — from identifying misinformation to understanding how national policy decisions land locally.
Past topics have included Project 2025, migrant justice, Christian Nationalism, and effective activism training.

North Carolina Voting Rights: What You Need to Know
Know Your Rights: Voter ID in North Carolina
North Carolina law requires voters to show a photo ID at the polls. While some IDs qualify and there are options if you don’t have one, the law is complex — and confusion alone can keep people from voting. Black and brown voters are disproportionately affected. Before you vote, make sure you know what’s accepted and what your options are if you don’t have a qualifying ID.
Voter Roll Purges: What’s at Stake Right Now in 2026
The NC State Board of Elections is finalizing rules that could remove thousands of eligible voters from the rolls — based on a federal database that state election officials themselves have called unreliable. Women, immigrants, naturalized citizens, and rural voters are most at risk. If you receive a notice challenging your voter registration, do not ignore it. Contact your county board of elections right away.
