Residents Rising Together, Lifting Voices Against Kings
Winston-Salem, NC – Camel City United Indivisible (CCUI) announces details for the March 28th “No Kings 3” rally. The event will be at Winston-Salem’s historic Union Station, located at 300 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Forsyth County Democratic Party Chair Jenny Marshall, Winston-Salem native Charles Terry, and Winston-Salem educator, the Rev. Daryl Napper, are the guest speakers.
Building on the theme “We Rise Together”, Marshall’s remarks will focus on the importance of strengthening democracy from the ground up. Terry will encourage the younger generations to fight for the future they deserve. Napper will focus on our shared humanity and our responsibility to build strong, caring communities. Dr. Robert Rominger and “Building Bridges Through Singing” will lead attendees in songs of resistance and resilience.
Free parking will be available beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church, and the Bethlehem Community Center. A map is available on CCUI’s website (camelcityunitedindivisible.org). Carpooling is suggested due to the limited parking at Union Station. Volunteers will guide attendees safely along the sidewalks toward the main stage.
Members from the Forsyth County Association of Educators (FCAE) and Fuerza Triad, partners for this event, will be on site.
CCUI Founder, Rudy Click, said, “Across the country, communities are holding “No Kings” events to remind the nation that power in America does not belong to kings, strongmen, or the wealthy few. It belongs to the people — neighbors who organize, show up, and stand together to shape the future of their communities.”
“No Kings” rallies are rooted in non-violent, meaningful, and fun protest. Stand with your neighbors, hold signs, and wear frog costumes.
