BREAKING NEWS UPDATE:
We’re honored that the Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II will be calling in LIVE to speak directly to our community during the event. While he is preparing to preach in Washington, DC, he made it clear he wants to connect with Winston-Salem and the movement we are building together.

Since our John Lewis Voting Rights Assembly, we’ve been working neighborhood by neighborhood—building relationships, hosting house meetings, knocking on doors, and developing Community and Voter Protection Ambassadors.

This time, No Kings is taking a different shape. Instead of putting all our energy into a single day of protest, we’re building a week of action around early voting and voter participation.

Here in Forsyth County, that means several opportunities to get involved, connect with neighbors, make sure people have the information they need to vote, and come together as a community. Here’s what we have planned:

KICK-OFF EVENT: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10TH

EARLY VOTING KICK OFF – SCREENING @ MALLOY-JORDAN LIBRARY

On October 10, we’ll kick off the week of early voting with community activities. More information coming soon!

MARCH TO THE POLLS: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15TH

FIRST DAY OF EARLY VOTING

On October 15, the first day of early voting in North Carolina, we’ll join Repairers of the Breach as part of its national 1,000 Marches to the Polls effort. The campaign is calling communities across the country to gather for nonviolent, nonpartisan marches that encourage people to vote early and make their voices heard. We’ll be marching here in Forsyth County, and we’d love for you to join us. Details are coming soon.

No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

We Decide.

We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.

NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY — SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17TH

TAKE ACTION & CELEBRATE DEMOCRACY

Then, on Saturday, October 17th, we’ll continue that work across our neighborhoods.

  • From 10 AM–12 PM, teams will take action throughout the community—canvassing, phone banking, writing postcards, connecting with neighbors, and helping eligible voters make their plans to participate.
  • Afterward, we’ll come together at Corpening Plaza to report what we accomplished, share what we learned from our neighbors, celebrate our collective work, and prepare for the days ahead.

This isn’t just about one day. It’s about building relationships and strengthening communities so that every eligible voter has the information and support they need to make their voice heard.

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law. Now, it's time for the next step: VOTE EARLY.

NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY.

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

*No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
