Saturday, February 28, 2026 is more than just another date on the calendar. It is the final day of early voting. It is a moment for our community to show up for democracy. And for many of us, it is also personal—it is a day to recommit ourselves to justice, dignity, and people power.

On this day, we will come together for a county-wide action to make our voices heard.

First, we vote.

Then, at 4:00 PM, we exercise our First Amendment right to assemble.

We will gather at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center, located at 201 North Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, to make a clear and public statement:

We want ICE out of our communities.

We do not want local law enforcement accusing, detaining, or cooperating with ICE beyond what the law requires. Our communities deserve safety, dignity, and accountability—not fear.

💥 PLEASE NOTE:
This action was originally planned for 251 North Main Street, but it has been officially moved to 201 North Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC. We’ll gather there instead. Click or tap the map to the right for directions.

This event is about visibility, presence, and people power. It is about standing in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors and saying, together, that Forsyth County should be a place where families are protected, not targeted.

We are especially proud that one of our own members, Brajan Funes, will be speaking at this action. Brajan’s voice represents the courage, resilience, and humanity that define this movement. His presence reminds us why this work matters and who we are fighting for.

Nearly 75 people have already signed up, which shows real momentum—but we know we can do even more. This action deserves strong turnout, strong energy, and strong community support.

We encourage everyone to come prepared. Make a sign. Bring a friend. Lift your voice. “ICE Out” signs, messages of dignity, and calls for accountability are all welcome. Let our presence speak clearly and powerfully.

This will be a meaningful, emotional, and inspiring experience. It is an opportunity to turn our values into action—right after we cast our ballots. If you’ve already voted, that’s wonderful. Please join us for the demonstration at 4:00 PM.

Vote early.
Show up at 4:00 PM.
Stand with your neighbors.
Raise your voice.
